Note: Early Check-Outs during our Holiday periods will be charged for the entire stay.

Vaccination Policies

Parker Bed and Bark meets all USDA requirements for boarding facilities, and one of the ways we do this is by requiring all pets staying with us to have up-to-date vaccination records on file.

For Dogs

  • DHPP: Initial puppy shots required, Booster thereafter every three years.
  • Rabies: At 16 weeks of age, thereafter as required by law.
  • Bordetella: Annual vaccination is required. To provide additional protection, every 6 months for this vaccination is recommended.
  • Lepto is recommended annually but not required.

For Cats

  • FVRCP: Following initial kitten shots, Booster every three years.
  • Rabies: At 16 weeks of age, thereafter as required by law.

Any animal that is due for any of the above vaccines will be taken to Parker Animal Hospital for an exam and required vaccines at the client’s expense. Proof of vaccination must be in writing from a veterinarian. Current patients of Parker Animal Hospital are exempt from this rule. To ensure a hitch-free Check-In, we recommend vaccination records at least 72 hours before the date of your Check-In.

While vaccinations are very helpful in preventing the spread of infectious diseases, they do not provide 100 percent protection. Therefore, at Parker Bed and Bark, we do our very best to ensure that our facility is as sanitary as possible. We follow industry-standard cleaning procedures and we also train our staff to be on the lookout for any signs of illness in any of the pets in our care.

All Animal Over the Age of 6 Months Must Be Spayed/Neutered in Order to Board Overnight or Come for Day Play.

Cancellations

Non-holiday deposits are refundable if the reservation is cancelled 48 hours prior to scheduled Check-In time. Refundable deposit will be refunded to a credit card. The $125 deposit for Holiday Periods are nonrefundable, nontransferable and will not be kept on record for future stays.

Holiday reservations will be at full capacity. Altering existing reservations is not recommended and can only be done if space allows.

Collars and Personal Items

Do not bring any personal items other than their food with your pet for their stay. We provide bedding, blankets, bowls, and litter boxes for the cats. This helps us to keep the facility as clean and germ-free as possible and prevents you from losing personal items that could become damaged or lost.

Feeding

  • We require for all owners to bring their pets’ food for stays. This reduces the stress that your dog/cat will experience during their stay and reduce the chance of an upset digestive tract.
  • If you do not bring your pet’s own food, we can feed them with our own food but there is a $7 per feeding charge.
  • Please bring only enough pre-measured food to cover your Pet’s entire stay.
  • Please label the food container with your Pet’s name and feeding amount.
  • Please do not bring bowls, scoops or cups.

Medication

  • Parker Bed and Bark is happy to administer any veterinarian prescribed medications your Pet requires. Please make sure to input into the system when making a reservation that your pet requires medication and all relevant information (what it is, how often, etc).
  • As required by the USDA, medications must be brought in their original container from the vet or pharmacy and be clearly labeled with your Pet’s name, veterinarian contact info, and dosage.
  • Medication administration will incur an additional charge for each day of your pet’s stay:
    • $7/day for oral/ear/eye medications
    • $15 for each insulin injection (this is veterinary supervised and diabetics will be closely watched by the veterinarians of Parker Animal Hospital)
  • Any Pet that shows evidence of fleas or ticks will be given a medicated bath at the owner’s expense.

Elder Care

As a Pet ages, the risks while Boarding increases; therefore, Parker Bed and Bark does not accept new dogs 12 years or older or new cats 15 years or older unless there is prior approval.

How does an older dog get approved? Schedule a day play visit (we recommend for just a few hours) so that our staff can evaluate how your dog handles the environment and whether we feel that he/she would be happy and safe in our facility during a stay.

Veterinary Care

If any Pet needs emergency medical attention Parker Bed and Bark reserves the right to have the animal assessed and treated by a veterinarian at Parker Animal Hospital and/or administer medicine and/or give other advisable attention within Parker Animal Hospital’s reasonable and sole discretion and judgment at the owner’s expense. Every effort will be made to contact you if your pet needs care.

If you would like to have your pet treated by another veterinarian, please provide the name, phone number and address when filling out your pet’s information.
